clear light of the day...!

The problem of child labour exploitation is a major challenge to the progress of developing countries. Children work at the cost of their right to education which leaves them permanently trapped in the poverty cycle, sadly without the education and literacy required for better-paying jobs. This is particularly serious in India as it tops the list with the highest number of child labourers in the world..!
while watching D.I.D ( Dance India Dance) yesterday on zee t.v...i came across a very interesting audition...
Sumit, a 11 year old guy made it to the next round thus qualifying for Mumbai auditions..when asked he said that .he doesnt study 'coz he has to WORK...he polishes boots...his dad is drunk most of the times and doesn't give any money to his mother...so Sumit had to start working to keep his family's body and soul together..he therefore can't go to school but wishes to educate his brother...
this li'll master is just 11 years old but has the maturity of a grown up man..i was highly impressed with his determination..it brought tears to my eyes..
there are many children out there like him who have sacrifice thir childhood...if sumit's dad had understood his responsibilities well then a child's future can be saved..also at the same time i was forced to think.. on one hand there was this child who knows the worth of his time and life..and on the other hand i was..who fortunately is blessed with all the facilities but was taking everything for granted..
all of a sudden i felt an urge to work hard...
the team of D.I.D has decided to help him with both his education and dance training..
i think we all should take steps to help such needy people...and add our share of contribution to the country and its progress.. 'coz these children are the future of our country.. at this age they should hold books in their hands and are not meant to be burdened with workload..
